Where to buy kitchen units?

I want to renew a small kitchen. I only need 3 base units and 2 wall units. Plus some worktop.

Where's a good place to pick this up flat-pack, off the shelf? I costed this out at Wickes, and it comes to £1000. I did the same at DIY kitchens, and it's similar.

I was, naively, expecting more like £50-100 per unit, but the prices are double that?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

  • I would have said Wickes, try this, as we get older, our expectations on price can be wrong.

Might be lucky to find so some 2nd hand and then you just need the doors?

Problem with mixing doors and carcases is that hinge holes and drawer positions rarely match. OK if you can sort, but tricky if you aren't a DIY'er. 5 units is a tiny kitchen too, often the hardest to plan and fit. The appliances take up most of the space.

This was a 7 unit kitchen in a rental property I did 2 years ago, B&Q supply, about a grand plus appliances I think.
It's also hard to photograph such a small room!!
