Video Doorbell (Eufy 340) using existing doorbell

my background isn't electrical but wondered if my existing doorbell would provide sufficient power for my new Video Doorbell or whether I would need to replace it for a transformer. Thanks in advance.

Hi.
The official specs for the new doorbell is that it requires a 8-24V and yours is only a 8-16V.
This means you would need to update your transformer to 8-24V. However, I have a Eufy S220 with only 8-16V and it works fine. It has a battery and just charges from the wires so it doesn't need that many volts for it to work - the 340 doesn't have a battery.
The Eufy 340 will work on 8-16V and it won't damage it if you try it.
Have you actually bought the 340? If yes then turn off the power to the doorbell from your consumer unit and install it. You could then see what you think.
However, if you have not bought it yet, I would consider the S220 as it is on offer from Prime for £89.99 at the moment. Both my parents and myself have had the S220 for 2 years without any problems (we both have a 8-16V transformer).1 -
Your existing chime runs from an 8-16v ac transformer - that means no less than 8v and no more than 16v - or 6v batteries, probably 4 x D cells.Your video doorbell works with an 8-24v supply, so no less than 8v and no more than 24vIf you are running the existing doorbell from the batteries then it will not work, if a transformer of the correct spec for the chime then it will be ok.2
