dishwasher - not worth repairing?
my hotpoint dishwasher is about 12 years old (of which it was unused for 4 years due to housemove), anyway last week it stopped working - all the electrics & motors are working but it won't pump out the water rang our usual repair shop who say they no longer touch them as the jobs are usually lengthy so are not financially…

Lost my Sky+ Warranty???
Hi folks I took Sky+ last October and had 12 month warranty on the box. It just blew up and was therefore replaced in the best Sky tradition with a recon model (which is a con anyway). However, the engineer said there was 30 days' warranty on that. Does anybody else interpret this as meaning my original warranty has now…

Painting on Vinyl wallpaper
I want to paint over a lot of vinyl wallpaper in a stairwell rather than spend days stripping the paper off. Is there a primer anyone can recommend that I could paint on and then paint emulsion over the top? Thanks Jim

is it worth buying posh paint
Hello everyone I'm wanting to paint my kitchen and have fallen for Farrow and Ball paint in Pale Hound - a lovely neutral / cool pale yellow. But it costs a fortune and the stockists are few and far between. F&B make big claims for this paint but I'm wondering if cheaper alternatives are just as good. I'm looking at…

Anyone have Anglian sliding patio doors?
We've just had a reasonable quote for some Anglian sliding patio doors (£2570 for a 3-door 3.6m window). Unfortunately we haven't been able to see or try any Anglian patio doors - we want to be sure that they open very easily, as the main reason for replacing our current windows is that they're extremely heavy and…

Heads up - BnQ clearing kitchen doors a quid a pop
I'll post this in the shop forums too, not sure if it's just local to Bristol though - 'modern' cherry, maple and beech doors in various sizes on clearance at 1 pound per door - the ones I looked at were very nice and various sizes were available - just wish my cabinets weren't so carp that I needed to buy them too :(

Question about Patio/sliding doors
We have some sliding doors into our 'porch' - some time ago I fell heavily against them and the bottom runner came loose, meaning the door no longer slides (it fell off the runner which came loose). Is it possible that the other side of the door also has runners and it could be simply a case of swopping over the blanking…

Any experts out that who can resolve a difference of opinion. Kitchen Quote rant
Hello there, excuse my first post on this board being a rant! I am just being terribly niave here or am I right to be peeved. I have been trying to get MFI to quote me for a kitchen. I have had one fitted from them before with no major issues and they worked out to be by far the cheapest. I asked the designer if i could…

Pre finished internal doors v's unfinished
Thoughts on the above please? I have just compared 2 versions of the same engineered wood door, one unfinished - with small imperfections and the other pre finished - with no imperfections. I saw the same unfinished door in two places, a builder's merchants and a high street DIY chain, both were similar condition. There's…
