Altering flat pack furniture- advice needed.

So after spending hours and hours on saturday puting up our flat pack cabinet i have now decided i do not like the colour- it's oak finish and i would now like a pine colour (which they dont make) Any ideas on how to change the finish? I'm a complete DIY dunce so clear and simple instructions are needed.

Have you tried seeing if you can send it back? Where was it from? And did you buy online or in a shop as it may make a difference with what your rights are. Is there anything else your unhappy about with it ...like is the quality not what you expected or any faults you can find with it that may make a stronger case for them taking it back.

We bought some flat pack pine bedroom furniture via Tesco Direct. After spending a whole afternoon and evening putting just one wardrobe together the doors grated top and bottom and it was pretty poor quality. I complained and sent the whole lot back for a full refund and got some decent pre-assembled furniture from Pine Solutions.

I can highly recommend Pine Solutions and will definitely be using them again in the future. Also they are on quidco - though i bargained with them over the phone and got a better deal than the quidco cashback!
