dishwasher - not worth repairing?

my hotpoint dishwasher is about 12 years old (of which it was unused for 4 years due to housemove), anyway last week it stopped working - all the electrics & motors are working but it won't pump out the water
rang our usual repair shop who say they no longer touch them as the jobs are usually lengthy so are not financially viable - he said if I could get someone to replace the pump it would be about £100 parts & labour
I'm going to try to do without one - kids aren't happy as being roped in to help with washing-up - but if I went for another has anyone got any recommendations?
