i have a good bath panel that is pine wood and has a clear coat of stain on it,but i want to emulsion it,obvoiusly i need to sand it right down,but would the emulsion look ok after this?

Crack in newly plastered wall
We have recently had the doors taken out between our lounge and dining room and the gap was bricked up and then plastered.
