Hi all,
Im a new poster and not even sure if this is the right place to post, but I had a Neff oven fitted 2 years and 3 weeks ago, it has now failed and Neff are saying hard luck as the warranty only runs for two years, I seem to remember hearing about things that are fit for purpose, surely after 2 years an oven shouldnt fail especaillay when I paid over £600 for it.
Any advice would be really appreciated
Thanks a lot
Darren

Have you spoken to the product advice line and asked them is they know what the problem could be? I'm a Neff Masterpartner and have very rarely come across a unit failing completely, however, sometimes something can go wrong in the electrics, which is usually very easy to sort...you could even call the service dept and see if they can think of anything...

Hi,
It hasn't failed completely yet, it has started displaying 000 part way through cooking, switching it off and back on fixes it, but I'm just worried thats its going to completely fail as the occurence is getting more regular
Thanks

I bought a Neff double oven and hob as I was moving into the house of my dreams about 7 years ago. I think I paid about £1000 for the two items. The oven arrived faulty(!) and ended up being replaced completely when the thermostat went into overdrive and burnt the inside of the oven the first time we used it.
The main oven has had its element replaced twice, thermostat once (as well as the above incident), the small oven has also had its element replaced once. The hob has had three service calls out to it for varying issues. I took out the extended warranty and it has been worthwhile doing so.
We are getting to know the service engineer locally here quite well and he remarked last time he called to replace the element that we have been quite unlucky!
I would never buy one again.
Some advice on consumerdirect. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

if you have been using the product without any problems for 2 years, on a regular basis, then no, you probably dont have the right to claim for defects as you have had a long time to use the product and if the fault has only just developed then the item is clearly not inherently faulty0
