Washing Powder, Calgon and Other Advice Please

Options

Hi sorry if this is in wrong forum.
Basically have just acquired a second hand bosch washing machine.

I couldnt see in the manual - does anyone know:

1) what brand of washing powder bosch recommend to use?

2) is there a preference to using liquid detergent in the drawer or washing tablets in the drum? should I also dilute fabric conditioner too?

3) also my zanussi washer which it is replacing (after 26 years!) I used calgon tablets in for the last 2 years. the zanussi hasnt broken, in fact its in my shed (in case I need to go back to it) but I felt the offer of a newer machine might be more energy and water efficient. Do you think I should continue with using Calgon tablets in this newer Bosch machine? We are in a medium-hard water area and get quite a bit of limescale round here.

Hi, I use tablets and/or liquid. I think powder or tablets are supposed to be best though from some advice I've seen on here. I use any brand tbh (whatever's on offer). I use the normal dose of fabric conditioner (one capful of concentrate).

I've never used Calgon but put my machine on an empty service wash about once a month on a very hot cycle as I only was on 30c. I also get the drawer out and clean it.

I - we're on our second Bosch washing machine, now about 4 years old. We only use the cheapest liquid (about 2.50 euros (around 2 quid) for 3 ltrs French hypermarket own brand!), and dilute concentrated fabric conditioner. Liquid either in drum in ball, or in machine drawer. No other additives like Calgon - the dispense drawer needs removing and cleaning regularly but otherwise nothing. Usually run on 30C wash.
