Letting agent fees for optional referencing
Can letting agents ask for tons of documents but add that, for a fee, they'll do the referencing for you? Or is that just circumventing the ban an referencing fees?

Would you sign this Contract?
Hi, I've just been sent the Contract to sign for my house purchase. My solicitor asked for some conditions to be removed from the original draft contract sent by the seller's solicitor. The contract I have been sent still has the original conditions on it but they have been crossed out as shown in the photo. I thought a…

Land Registry - RX3 form, section 8, help.
I have completed all the forms to update the title and just one bit I am a bit unsure of. On part 8, 'Application', it reads as the below. I have put the date of the Form A restriction in the box but who is it "in favour of"? I am removing the Form A restriction because the joint proprietor has passed and there is now only…

Realistically, how much do we need to do?
I suspect I already know what the answer is, so be as brutal as you like! I have been offered a job the other side of the country, which means relocating. This is a good thing as we will be within 30 minutes of almost all our family members rather than 2 - 3 hours drive from them. We have been talking about this for years…

Inaccurate Survey Cost Sale of House
Hi, I agreed a price to sell my house but the buyer pulled out after his surveyor found there to be dry rot in the loft. I have since had my own survey carried out to find out the extent of the rot and how to rectify it, but there was none found. My questions are: 1. Is there any accountability on the original surveyor? 2.…

Buying out the rest of my mums mortgage
Hi there, My mum recently got ill and had to retire. This unfortunately means she will be unable to renew her mortgage when it is due next year. We have been discussing the idea of me getting a mortgage on the remainder of the property (around £260,000) so that she does not have to move. I would move in with her initially…

Paying rent with standing order issues
With all of my previous landlords, I have paid my rent by standing order on the 1st of the month. When the due date fell on a weekend, it was automatically paid the next working day and this has never been an issue. However, my new landlord seems to be asking that the rent is paid on or before the 1st even if that falls on…

I don't have this funnily enough and as the flat is only worth about £225K, I don't think it is worthwhile. I'm really stressed…

UC+ islamic mortgage
I've been given two section 21 notices in the past two years and it's been a very frustrating time. Hello, We have to do a CGT declaration soon, we've not done one before; so we can get ready, does anyone know what information is needed, is it just entering numbers like purchase price, sale price, etc. or do we have to upload any documentation, receipts of alterations done, etc.? Thanks.
