House sale proceeds bank question
As there is good chance we will go into a rental on the sale of our house, this means the proceeds from the sale of our house will be sat in savings till we use it to buy another one. I understand the FSCS covers you for 1 Million for 6 months but is this only for the money for your house or is it all money in your account…

Unregistered property purchase
We are trying to buy a property that is unregistered. Sellers have all paperwork but can't find an old mortgage redemption (from approx 2014). We can't continue to buy and then register as was planned, without it. If original can't be found, what proof would Land Registry require that mortgage was paid off??

HELP - Social Rent increase more than the maximum 2.7%
I just got notice of my social rent increase for from April 2025. It is increasing from £111.41 per week to £114.60, it should be £114.42. This is a 2.86% increase. The maximum for this year is 2.7%. What can I do? I know it is 'just' 18p more a week, but that is 18p over the maximum allowed increase. Is my large social…

Will banning new leasehold properties decimate the value of existing leasehold flats ?
Just wondering what impact this will have on existing leasehold flats. Is it inevitable that will be very much less attractive than flats without leaseholds and the values will tank? I guess it will take a while for the new stock to be developed so the impact will take a while at least..

Leasehold renew or not
We have 49yrs left on the lease, we're thinking of selling, renewing the lease is estimated around £20+K, we haven't got that kind of money, Prior to selling, is it worth having a personal loan and paying for the extended lease or selling the flat with at a much lower value given it only has a 49yr lease?

Buying a Bellway new build
Hi all, We're interested in a Bellway development and really like 'the scrivener' house style. We've never had a new build so it's all a bit new to me and I'm not particularly trusting of sales people as I'm sure they're just out to extract as much money from you as possible. Bellway have an offer of up to £25k towards…

Am I over analysing?
Hi, We are close to exchanging, but a house next door was built
in 2011 - the house we are looking at is from the 1970s. During the planning
application, the new building had a soil sample done, which came back with
lead, arsenic, and benzopyrene over the standard at the time. There were two samples taken, they do vary…
