How to buy a second property
I recently became 'tenant in common' (50/50 split) on a
bungalow my cousin, who is based in America. The bungalow was
originally left entirely to my cousin as part of an estate following the
death of my Aunt, but my cousin wanted to gift 50% of the property
to me, with me to buy the remaining 50% at a reduced…

Lease extension
Hello, my 87 year old aunt lives 400 miles away from me on the IOW. She is in a leasehold flat and has just told me she wants to go into assisted living, which will involve selling her flat. I asked her how many years there are on her lease and she isn't sure - and thinks her solicitor holds her lease? I've had a look at…

There is a 1 acre paddock that does not currently seem to have vehicular…

Can I assume the survey was OK?
My buyers had a level 2 survey done about 10 days ago on my property. The agent has confirmed that the solicitor has applied for the searches. I'm assuming all was acceptable otherwise we'd have heard by now? According to the surveyor's website, he turns the report round in 3-4 days with verbal feedback first.

Buyer asking for asbestos survey in 1960’s maisonette
Hello, Asking for advice on what an asbestos survey entails please? Will there be any drillings, damage to my ceilings? My buyer is asking for an asbestos survey to be carried out inside my 1964 maisonette. Proof of funds check
There are a few threads on 'Proof of funds' on here recently and reading them has made me think about when we buy a property. Our house is sold and we will be moving into rental, then we will start properly looking for our next home. We are mortgage free and the money will be in the bank ready once we find one. The house…

Buy a house somewhere quiet & affordable and stay there (there are a couple of areas I'm considering) 2. Buy a flat in a big city with good employment prospects (e.g. London) and live & work there for a few years…

Buying a home after receiving a Section 21
Hi, I have recently been served a Section 21 to vacate a property on 21st July. It's certainly not my intention to cause problems for my landlord, but there are some Shared Ownership properties available on the 26th September. If I find somewhere else to rent, I'd have to move twice and sign a six-month tenancy which would…

Estate agents closed
So, I had a discussion with my estate agents about us moving out before our contract ended - they were on board and said they would try to find new tenants. They have also been incredibly lazy with this (had to remind them to put an ad up for the property) This was back in march-/april. Anyways, recently we just paid…
