Electric Shaver recommendations
Hi guys, I'm in the market for a new electric razor after almost 15 years in the 'wet shave' arena... A new job with a lot of travel has prompted the move. I've been a Gillette loyalist for years and I probably still will use when I'm at home but whilst away, for speed and convenience I need to replace my ageing Braun…

Blood Test--- Iron Levels Ok but
Dad's blood test result was iron levels ok but he is still anemic, how can that be? i thought anemia was only caused by low iron levels. I always press dad to ask questions for clarity but he is just waiting now for more tests. Has anyone ever been told of any other reasons for anemia other than low iron levels?

Lower back pain and stretching exercises
My wife is suffering terribly from acute lower back pain, seeing the doctor later this week. She's had back issues for a long time, but not as bad as this. She tried some stretching exercises yesterday, from the NHS website, and her pain is worse. Could that just be a temporary reaction to the exercises as she doesn't do…

Restless legs
I've had restless legs for years whereby getting to sleep is hard because I can't lie still for more than 20 seconds without discomfort in my legs forcing me to move. Recently due to cramp in a calf muscle I started taking a hydration/salt tablet in the water I drink at the ice rink, to replace water and lost salts (not…

What is your best experience in health care?
For balance ;) I could mention my lovely midwives, eager to support me giving birth at home, or the GP who thanked me for letting him come out to do the newborn check at home, or my surgery who "always have appointments if it's an emergency", or my son's wonderful dentist who talked him through a small filling in a gentle,…

No appointments available at GP online booking system for 3 weeks?
My GP is part of a Group Practice with 5 doctors: 3 GP partners and 2 salaried doctors. They recently introduced an online booking system for routine appointments, so I decided to try and use it for a routine appointment, now due. I registered and logged in. The system offered me the option to book up to three weeks in…

Health Screening - is it worth it?
Background: It's the time of the year where I can select the benefits I receive from my employer. One of these benefits is health screenings. These are typically provided by Nuffield Health and include their 360 Health Screen and 360+ Health Screen looking at a long long list of things. Here is a link of what the 360…

Does home IPL hair removal work?
Posting for a male relative - "I’ve had a beard for most of my adult life because of problems like ingrowing hairs, razor burn and my hair just growing too fast to keep on top of it so I stopped. I’ve recently started shaving again and although my skin isn’t as sensitive as it was I still run up against the same problems.…

making the switch to safety razors
As part of our efforts to make more environmentally friendly choices, I'm thinking of switching from disposables to a safety razor. If you have made the switch, how has it worked for you? Any tips on what I should look out for in a razor or equipment you'd recommend to go with it?

WW Subscription nightmare
Hi everyone I joined WW online a month ago. I previously went to classes with Slimming World but have moved area and started a new job so thought that using an online app would suit my needs more. On the Back of the Mattress thread...
I, too, am in the market for a new mattress. However, I don't want to commit to anything just yet and we also need lots of work doing in the bedroom first so would prefer to hold off. In the meantime, I have spent most of the past 2 years sleeping on my sofa. Mainly because I don't always sleep well due to pain…
