NHS Healthcheck - poor take-up.
I keep hearing in the news about the NHS Health Check and the poor take-up of this service, however it says on the website to wait for a letter and that you should get one every 5 years. I'm 68 and I've never had such a letter, and nor has anyone I've spoken to. No wonder take up is poor. When asked for postcode for…

Dental advice
Hi all My partner visited the NHS dentist 2 weeks ago. All was well but he was advised to have a hygienist appointment. He went 10 days ago. A couple of days later he felt unwell and we thought it was a cold. He found a lump on his jaw yesterday and went back to the dentist who spent 5 minutes looking and said he had 2…

Low fragrance washing powder/liquid
I seem to find the fragrance of clothes after washing overpowering lately. It's just the scent, nothing else, and I don't think I'm allergic. Are they putting more fragrance in? I normally buy Formil from Lidl which is usually OK. However, today I notice the clothes are overpowering again. It might be because it's a…

Cholesterol check
I'm 51. I remember a check up at my docs a few years ago where my cholesterol was slightly raised but the gp didn't seem too concerned. A few years on from that I wonder what my levels are now. I have a blood pressure monitor to keep an eye on that but I have read that home cholesterol kits aren't that accurate. Is there a…

Does anyone have experience to share (good or bad) with medical negligence claims? How did you find your solicitor and how satisfied were you with the outcome? Where can I go for a health check?
This may seem an obvious question but I'm looking to get a check of my weight, body fat etc which I believe I can do without a visit to the doctors. I don't really want to go to the doctors as I don't think they will appreciate a visit without being ill. I'm sure there's a way I can do this by paying a small fee? Someone I…

Hair mask similar to Kerastase?
Hi, I've tried a Kerastase hair mask that came on a gift set and liked it, but it's really expensive (£30 for 200ml). Does anyone know if there's a cheaper brand with similar results? My hair is fine and very frizzy, it looks horrible when dried unless I use a mask/conditioner or a leave in product. Thanks!

Giving up smoking

4 tooth bridge options
I had a 3 tooth bridge done on NHS nearly 28 years ago after a tooth broke and there was not enough left for a crown. The bridge is on the top right hand side from canine tooth going back. A couple of years ago I had problems with the back supporting tooth and it had to be removed so left me with 2 of the teeth which are…

Paid for invisalign full but received lite
Hi there I recently went to the dentist to correct my teeth. My dentist recommended that I get invisalign full and the same is specified in my quote, which I paid for. However, the packed I received says "invisalign system - lite" and the number of trays I have is 14, which matches with invisalign lite. I suspect that,…
