My wife has complained that I'm starting to look like a caveman. Could anyone provide me a link/recommendations to a good all purpose male grooming trimmer? Thanks in advance

Can anyone recommend a wallet friendly OTC local anaesthetic for toothache?
I was in the process of having some work done on my teeth, with the current situation with Covid-19, my dentist cancelled all appointments. They can't help me as I'm not in enough pain for it to be an emergency and even then, they can only do a phone consultation to tell me the best ways to manage the pain. I'm taking…

Does anyone use or take CBD products or oils?
Keep seeing CBD everywhere in articles and even our local health food had it advertised in the window. Does anyone here use CBD oil in anything (coffee, cakes etc) and most important of all, what is the feeling you get from taking it! My cannabis smoking days are long over, but interested to hear thoughts on this latest…

Cheap private prescriptions for the pill
Hi all, New to the board and looking for some advice. Anyone who has experience using online pharmacies feel free to weigh in! I'm between GPs at the moment, and with all this coronavirus chaos that's going on, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to get in at my local one any time soon. (Or maybe I could if I tried,…

2 items, same drug, different size dose mg
My daughter is currently on 100mg of a drug which is 28 tablets a month, she has just been increased to 150mg, there isn't a 150mg tablet so she has been prescribed 1 box of 100mg and 1 box of 50mg on the same prescription but listed as 2 items. Will this cost her twice as much?

Hi all. As the thread title suggests, have dental charges increased for this year? Since I think it's usually on the 1st of April every year? Thanks.

Private Dental Care - Covid19
I've just received an email from my dentist, whom I pay for via Denplan. He's basically saying that the surgery is closed until further notice. However, he goes on to offer instructions in case of emergency and then gives one telephone number for his Denplan Patients (a Denplan number) and another number ( I guess his own…

Raw Garlic Breath Cure!
I love eating raw garlic and onions but obviously this is ok whilst in self isolation but not in public, i have had mixed results in trying to mask the bad breath problem with Mouthwash, Parsley, Mint and Milk, i have heard about black garlic but not convinced that the health benefits would be as good, is their anything…

Broken filling Weeks to wait Where can I get Pro advice?
Not the only one here, I have a cracked filling in a molar and dentists can't treat it till the coronavirus passes. I know from experience that if you leave a tooth exposed for a few weeks, bacteria get in, damages the interior of the tooth, and in due course the tooth dies. (It happened to me a few years back.) Who can…

Anyone ever completely loss smell/taste?
Hi guys, For nearly 2 weeks now I've had no smell or taste, which is a new experience as this has never happened before even with my most severe flu/colds. Doctors couldn't see me when I called as I wasn't showing any other symptoms (This came after a 2 nights of chills/headache but no respiratory issues) My nose feels…

Should I get I refund from this dentist
I was charged £70 without fixing my tooth It was the first time I was seeing this dentist: she said she could not fix my tooth because she did not have an X-ray, I told her I was going to pay to have an X-ray that was not a problem, but she didn't want to do that, so I told her, I can call my previous dentist now to have…

Please - need suggestion for root canal specialist
Hi, I'd appreciate any suggestions. An out-of-hours emergency dentist told me six days ago that I must have root canal treatment within two weeks. She said she suggested I have the tooth removed, or get root canal treatment. I'm in Didcot, in Oxfordshire. The dental offices I've called are closed due to coronavirus. Would…

Cutting own hair
So hair was getting shaggy and in need of its monthly cut. Then all the barbers closed. I usually get a £10 cut at the local, a number 3 back and sides and a trim on the top. I've got some clippers somewhere but never used them. How feasible is it to have a go myself? I'm 50 so not interested in anything fashion, just a…

my daughter had Orthognathic surgery in December 2019 and had several follow up appointments so far. She has been seeing her NHS orthodontist every 4 weeks. She is wearing braces and needs several more follow up appointments to adjust them before they can be taken out. These appointments have now been cancelled due to CV.…

NHS Dentist; Scale & Polish moved to band 2!
Hi Folks, Many local NHS dentist have been referring their NHS patients for 'scale and polish' which falls under band 1, to either referring them to their Hygienist, which is not covered by the NHS treatment and pay far more than band 1. Or recently in my case, moved to Band 2 treatment under gum disease, where the Dentist…

Tooth advice please
This morning I broke a front tooth - I think it's a white vertical filling (where a gold filling used to be years ago). Of course, my dental practice can't see me unless I'm in pain, they advised me to buy and use a temporary filling kit meanwhile. I've been out and bought one, however it says that it's only to be used for…

Unprofessional judgement
I have made a post about this same issue yesterday, however due to needing some meds and the doctors phone being engaged over 30 minutes I had to go to another local chemist to try an emergency supply or get any help. Today I visited another pharmacy. There was a asian pharmacist, I spent a good 5-10 minutes discussing my…
