Dental implant failed ~ Now what?

I had an implant for an upper molar late January of this year and by the beginning of March it was obvious that it had failed.
I had suffered with an infection from near enough the start of the treatment that wasn't improved by 2 different courses of antibiotics.
The implant post was removed at the beginning of March.
Where can I go from here considering the current crisis
Many thanks
dx

it is very unlikely elective surgery ,of the type necessary after failed implants, will be taking place in dental practices in the near future , so for now it's sit and wait, I'm afraid.

Yes, you're right and I was expecting a wait.
I think I was wondering if there are any alternatives that I could explore during the wait.

There are very few dental labs open at the moment and any alternative would require using a drill and having a lab make something.

At the moment any procedure creating an aerosol eg a drill has to be urgent and needs a lot of PPE and regulation of cleaning etc. All dentists will prioritise urgent/emergency cases so I do not think there is any immediate prospect of treatment for you even if it's not an implant.

Any alternatives need someone to look at you, look at your x rays ,ct scan etc again unlikely to happen just yet.

the main cause of implant failures are smoking, diabetes and gum disease so if any of these apply to you then spend this time addressing those .
