Which storage battery
Hi all, We have recently had a 12kW ashp installed in our 4 bed house (4 of us); prior to this we were reasonably heavy users anyway using anywhere between 5-15kW. Currently we’re between 15 and 25kW and this will obviously increase in winter. I have just started to get quotes for battery storage; we also have solar panels…

DNO Refused Tesla Powerwall - any advice ?
Hi , We are a power hungry household in the West Midlands - Worcestershire. We have 7.05KW PV Panels generating around 5000KW per year . We exported 3000kwh last year and imported 6,600kwh ( 4,000kwh is consumed by the electric car alone - we would like to get a second electric car and an induction hob in the next 2 years…

Help with battery choice
I have a house with a 3.9 kWp FiT PV system. We are about to start major renovations and as part of that will be installing an ASHP and UFH to replace an LPG boiler and ancient radiators. Now would seem to be the right time to add a battery, and possibly replace the old solar panels and increase the PV generation. I have…

Major issues with GivEnergy battery and inverter
Greetings! With energy prices soaring to peak levels and solar technologies becoming more affordable, my family and I decided to hop on the bandwagon and invest in a solar energy system. Our equipment was installed with much enthusiasm, and everything appeared to be working seamlessly, until I started paying close…

Alternative to spray foam?
Hi So I've seen this https://www.mortgagestrategy.co.uk/news/spray-foam-insulation-leaves-250000-homes-in-mortgage-limbo/ So, I really wouldn't want any spray foam insulation. What's a better form of insulation? One that doesn't have other issues down the line?

Solar Panels
Hi not sure if I picked the correct category but I hope someone can advise me. We have solar panels on the house. It was my husbands pet project and I was not involved at all. He died last year and it has taken me a while to sort things out. I discovered he had no paperwork so I had to get that and I have found out they…

Seeking opinions about solar quote please
I hope this is the right place for this. I hope I can get advice on whether this quote is reasonable cost-wise, but also whether it is the best system for us? We are fairy low electricity users and this system seems to be geared to us producing excess to export to the grid and thereby be paid, so that gives us a bigger…

Consuming excess solar with smart plugs?
Hi all, I've recently had a 4.8kw solar system installed, I decided against a battery and hot water diverter due to cost and value for money. My inverter is a Solis S6 and has an app to monitor generation but not it seems consumption. I am currently using my smart meter to keep an eye on the exported energy. I'd like to…

New Solar and Battery installation
Hi all, I've been a lurker for a while but signed up to the forum today as we are in final throes of purchasing a new house. As part of choice of house, we wanted to install a solar and battery system on the property. We will also be looking at if it is a suitable property for replacing the gas boiler with an air source…

SK-SU3700E off grid don’t charge battery is EPS is off
Hi I am not sure if I posting in the right place. Please let me know. I have a SK-SU3700E to use off grip in a garden room which I can’t have power from the house. I bought this hybrid inverter without checking much about the specs and manual because it was a bargain (I think) and I had no time to look for more information…

The largest system I've seen!
Thought I'd share what 52 bifacial rooftop panels (paired to 2 X Tesla PW3 battery inverters) looks like! DNO export permission for 22 kWh approved, also the highest I've been involved with! Expected annual generation is 20+ mWh!! :o

Solar/battery customer service
How many of you have found, after investing in a solar array and storage batteries getting any form of advice and customer service from the installer or the hardware manufacturer has been nigh on impossible? We had GivEnergy batteries and inverter installed followed by a very rudimentary introduction by the installer on…

Givenergy woes

Exporting as much as possible
we only need hot showers at 7am and 9pm . I disconnected the sender unit from the meter and put the offset at 500w which is the max. I have decided to divert as much energy as possible to my 'spin back' old fashioned meter . I heat the showers from gas which is cheaper . Is there any more I can do to save money ? We have 8…

Tesla PW3 Rebate Extended till June 30.
From the horse's mouth - the rebate program has been very well received by Tesla Certified installers & end customers alike, and so it has been extended till 30/6/26. Personally, I believe it's a promotion aimed at keeping the PW3 competitive while Tesla prepares to launch best in class energy tariffs aimed solely at…

Lux ac battery controller
Thought I'd start a new thread for the Lux battery controller as suggested on the battery storage thread. To kick it off, I notice there is an entry on the web portal stats under "history data" for battery temperature (tBat°C) but mine just shows zeros. There's also entries for max and min cell voltage but again, no…
