using plants as room fresheners?

Hoping someone might know something that can help me…..

First off I have a rosemary bush that is sprawling across the drive. It's huge but laying down on the job and sets off the car's "warning you're going to hit something" sensors. It needs a severe haircut. And of course I know it can be used in cooking but I see no reason to store any in the kitchen when I have such a huge supply fresh in the garden.

Secondly I have a couple of large lavenders that need to be tidied for winter. Lots of dead/dried flowers on them.

OK so I know the lavender flowers can be picked and simply put in bowls or something. I do like to sprinkle some on the door mats so they are stomped on when you come in and out and give a nice fragrance. And I know that rosemary and lavender is a lovely combination. So I wondered if anyone had stripped off rosemary leaves and loosely ground them, maybe then mix with the lavender and ….. do what?

Or if you have any other ideas I'd be happy to hear suggestions!!

    Very large Parlour Palms + Money Plants in all the living rooms.

    Large Snake Plants in the bedrooms. You'll feel the difference right away!

    I try to follow this gentleman's advice - however Areca palm appears to struggle in our climate.

    You could infuse lavender and rosemary in some light olive oil (stick it in a small jam jar for 2-4 weeks). Can then strain and use the oil in a tea-light wax melt type holder.

    The oil might also work in those humidifier pots you can hang on radiators but not actually tried that. Any heat source should waft the scent around a bit.

    Be careful giving rosemary a 'severe haircut'. I'm not an authority on this so I'd do some research first, as I'm worried that you may kill the plant off.

    My experiences are not the result of hard cutting back but I've had both rosemary and sage plants grow aggressively and appear very healthy and then suddenly give up and I've had to start afresh.

    It would be a "short back and sides" but on the drive side only.

    Rosemary & lavendar in cotton sachets in drawers and closets are a natural moth proofer. I like the scent but my OH says it reminds him of his Gran -

    The Ted talk I have linked above does a much better job explaining than I ever could.
