arkonite_babe's very useful Gardening Index
Nearly all the links in the sticky arkonite_babe's very useful Gardening Index are broken on the new forum. Clicked a few to test - decking, mushroms, potatoes. The thread is closed for comments so hopefully she or another board guide can update it (or worst case remove) as it looks to be a very useful resource.

Wooden planters

Using block pavers for lawn edging?
I'm trying to spruce up my lawn a bit and a while ago I got some block pavers free from a neighbour (bricks with no indent so they're flat on all sides). I want to use them to make a border between my lawn, which is a rectangle, and the flowerbeds, as some of the flowers are trying to creep into the grass, and it's also…

Growing Potatoes in Pots, Advice Please
I've planted some Charlotte seed potatoes in a large plastic trug, and they seem to have started well. One or two were barely showing above the compost, but the rest had a flourishing little green growth going on, a few inches high. Today I poured more compost in the trug so now I can't see any more growth (I carefully…

Seedlings
This year is my 1st attempt at growing Radish and Spring Onion. I have sown indoors in old takeaway containers and the seedlings are about 1/2 tall. Can they be transferred outside into their growing pot or do I transfer into a deeper tub but keep indoors for a few more weeks?

What is this amazing tree?
I see this beauty during my daily stroll and it resembles a big fluffy cat, and it's incredibly soft to the touch. I ran it through PlantNet which says CRYPTOMERIA Japonica, and while it does look like other pictures, it's not identical.

Using builders’ bags in the garden
I have three or four cubic metre builders’ bags which I’d like to use for planting vegetables, or possibly fruit bushes/trees, but the metre height is a bit too high (except for prize-winning parsnips :D ). Does anyone use them? I could cut the sides down, but would lose structural integrity, or turn the sides down inside…

Planting out tomato plants
I have a few tomato plants in the house which i started from seed in early March. Plants are now 30cm high. I intend to plant out in polytunnel. Garden shed re roofing
Hi, I have an old(15 yr plus) wooden garden shed. Its felt roof it came with has split exposing the wood underneath. Its needs re-roofing and the cheapest quote of 5 has been £210....So it looks like I may be taking my first foray into refelting the roof. Its quite small(each panel is 180 x 80cm). I've bought felt, clout…

Honey fungus on hedges?
Hello all, So I was cutting back
my hedges recently, and noticed that the trunks aren't looking as
they used to be. The hedges also aren't growing quite as thick last
year. Some of the branches are dead and brittle. From my
online research, it looks like the hedge may have honey fungus. I've
attached some pictures. Quite…

Greenhouse Base
I have chosen the best place for my greenhouse. The soil is not good for growing directly into it so was considering pavings slabs. Would this be the best way to go? It is 8ft long x 6ft which takes me to just short of the blackcurrant bush (there is room to make the base bigger than the greenhouse) A complete novice to…
