Gardening express and money saving expert offers
So naively, I saw an offer on the weekly email for gardening express and clicked through and completed an order for over £200 worth of plants. Assuming the money saving expert would only have reputable companies in their email offers. After a week they said they were picking the plants and after 3 weeks I got the automated mail saying it had shipped. Oddly the shipping company has never received the order - a week later and still nothing - so after a month nothing. There is no way of communicating with this company. No phones, no email and no online chat. Very disappointed. I suspect my only option now is to go to my credit card provider and dispute the payment....

Just a pity OP only reads the weekly e mail & not this forum

As it says at the foot of the page: "you use the information at your own risk and we can't accept liability if things go wrong." In other words, 'Caveat emptor,' or for those without a grounding in Latin, 'You're on your own if things go tits-up!'Basically, the multi-milion £ enterprise that now owns MSE, posts deals without any knowledge of how good or bad they are. Whether they receive a bung to facilitate that publicity is not something I could comment on.2

I had the same problem with Thompson & Morgan, out of 20 plants only 6 arrived alive.

I also saw this company on the weekly email. I did actually receive my parcel from Gardening Express which was left on my doorstep. So on reflection now feel lucky compared your issues. I ordered the plants on 22nd April and they arrived on 25th JUNE!!! Here is a picture of the box and the plants inside. 3 of the plants were fine but the other 2 not so good but I hope they will recover in time. I paid £45.77 for these plants including £5.99 for delivery. I fully understand it’s a difficult time for all I just wanted to inform people of what to expect.
On reflection probably would not order from them again.
Good luck with your refund!!!

I buy trees and shrubs by mail order in may winters from a range of suppliers, including Buckingham Nurseries. Even though many of these plants are bare rooted and dormant, they're never packed loose like those above. All good internet sellers find ways to stabilise plants in transit. People who supply as in your pictures simply don't care what you receive at the end of the journey, or by the sound of it, when you get them. Good nurseries communicate and send part orders when there's a hold up, advising when it's hoped the rest will follow.Money Saving Expert is promoting a poorly performing company here, plain and simple.3
