Topcashback, Unheard of by my Greenhouse Supplier, so who are the grey men behind the deal?
The purchase of a Greenhouse is a fairly large purchase, on two counts! I shopped around and my sister explained to me if I purchased my choice by Forest Garden Ltd via Topcashback I would make a 7% approx saving. The Company advertised on their site was TwoWests & Elliott. I telephoned TwoWests before my purchase asking…

How to stop getting spots on my feet from my garden?
This may sound odd but whenever I go into my own garden with my feet exposed e.g. in slippers, I end up getting itchy red spots all over them. This mainly happens in my own garden rather than if I'm just out and about. For anyone interested, I've got some photos here. Does anyone know what exactly might be causing them and…

How Did You Begin?
I've now found myself with time for gardening, but honestly, where do you start? There seems to be so much information that it's overwhelming. I have a fairly big garden that's probably got loads of potential, but I wondered how others eased themselves into this hobby? Any inspirational books, TV guides, clubs to join?…

Another "what is this weed?" question
I have been looking around my parents garden, trying to keep things tidy, and I wondered if anyone could please identify either of these plants / weeds? The first has grown to quite a big size, and has these buds on the top that may or may not flower at some point: I also have quite a lot of these growing around the place:…

Iceland poppies
4 years ago I planted some Iceland poppies (F1 so I know they don't seed true), the plants don't live long but I was happy to let them seed themselves and they have produced various little twists since then but the third one is definitely furthest away from the originals (the original plants which are all dead now came…

What do you think to this compost delivery Ive just had?
Hi I bought 1400 litres of Fruit & Vegetable Compost 30 days ago. Despite promising delivery within 10 days, 30 days later its finally been delivered. Festuca glauca - blue fescue... cut off seed heads..?
I have a couple of attractive clumps of blue fescue grass which, for the first time, are putting up seed stalks. I'm wondering whether allowing the plants to set seed will mean that they die afterwards. Yes, I could collect the seed and try to propagate but I'd prefer to avoid this. Does anyone know the answer?

This is probably the wrong place for this question but couldn’t think of anywhere more appropriate. i have a bird feeding station with a baffle underneath to stop the squirrels climbing up it (doesn’t stop the one who uses it as a stepping stone to the feeders but that’s another story). It’s covered in bird poop. Do people…

Deposit for landscaping work
HI - we have been asked for a 50% deposit for landscaping work, start date in October, which would amount to £7,500 (total project £15,000). I'm very reluctant to give this sort of money to any company 6 months upfront. They say it is to secure the date and for materials, which I get, but they wont be buying any materials…

I applied to the Local Council with a 211 to fell trees in my garden and replace with similar evergreens but in different places (not bang smack in the middle) which allow me to enjoy my garden and replant so we aren't losing anything but under some planning condition that belies the land they have refused, yet they have…

Recommendations for a potted plant for a north facing patio in the UK?
I'm a newbie when it comes to gardening. Can anyone recommend any plants to keep potted on a north facing patio in the UK? There isn't a huge amount of sunlight apart from around midday during the spring/summer months. I was thinking of lavender or would that be a bad idea?
