Thought it worth mentioning that I bought some beautiful pale yellow primulas like primroses.
With the buckets of rain we've had the flowers repeatedly rot unlike the tough coloured ones.
I bought a similar two toned one last spring and that goes the same way so a real waste of money.
So before you get enchanted feel how thin the petals are. Hopefully they will breed tougher ones with time but these are very disappointing as I bought them for a display pot.
The genuine primroses in my garden are fine and begun flowering beautifully already. They survive snow as well.

The key with these is not to buy ones that already in flower at this time of year. They are more like proper wild primroses and should flower from late winter through the spring. I have masses. Some do flower early but don't last too long. Some even flower in early December. I wonder if they flower again. Mine tend to be amongst many others so I've never checked as there are so many.

Of course next year they'll mainly do the right thing and flower later.

I did check with the guy at the garden centre because I don't want them to cross with my precious wild ones which I bought from my last garden. I used to have masses but now only a few.
It sounds about right otherwise. I didn't record the name but they are new out. I didn't expect them to be delicate. I try not to do delicate.  :)
Being in a pot I can keep an eye on them. If they need lots of attention then they may end up being gifted to the charity stall.

Maybe you need to put them someplace the rain doesn't hit them so hard?? Or not at all??? And then water them occasionally.

You could stand outside protecting them with a brolly?!?!?!   :)

A lot of my primroses are only just sprouting new leaves. I'd be tempted to cut them right back and see what happens.

They've recovered now it's not permenantly heavy rain. We have some dryish days predicted to follow.
The foliage is fine, it's the flowers that rot where neither the coloured ones or true primroses do.
It's very mild here, 15c,and it's been raining for ages. Even my broccoli is getting whitefly.

We rigged up a canopy to shade a Japanese maple we'd moved to a new site which turned out to be sunnier than the plant could tolerate!
