It's worth looking at the discount shelf of your local supermarket at this time of year. I got some bags of 50 daffodil bulbs at 30p each recently. I should have looked more closely because one variety is fine but the other looks unlikely to sprout. No regrets though. If they don't sprout, they will rot and improve the soil as long as I put them in the ground.

If you want to use similar terms, I got £30 worth of bulbs for £3. It's not right to say £30 worth because some won't survive. I was mildly annoyed to see the bags dated 30 November. It's unusual for that supermarket (Asda) to sell items after their date but I will forgive as long as they don't do it too often.
