Hitting my head against the wall - Sainsburys/Nectar card.
Some months ago, found our Sainsburys Nectar card was used at a location we had not visited at that time. We informed Sainsburys/Nectar and a new set of cards was provided for both of us. Since then which is now some 6 months, we have been collecting points from various places other than Sainsburys with the new cards. But…

Aldi Price Match
:# I am fed up going into supermarkets like Tesco and seeing “Aldi
price matched” stickers all over the place. Aldi was not the cheapest for
everything, now they are using it as a way to fool us and increase their prices
to match Aldi.

Save money buying free range eggs for the cost of 'battery' ones.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but a thing that I have discovered over the past year or so, is that more often than not, eggs are mislabelled deliberately. On the past three occasions that I have bought the cheapest eggs on sale from a supermarket, they have been labelled on the packaging as being from…

£10.50 off shopping at Sainsburys
I was delighted to receive a £10.50 off my online shopping at Sainsburys last week and even more delighted to get another £10.50 off this week (provided I spent over £70 which I do). What I cannot understand is why? My daughter also shops on line with them but didn't receive the same. We looked at her Nectar App but it is…

PSA: check your receipts!
For the 6th consecutive weekly grocery shop at Morrisons I have found an item incorrectly priced on my recipt. It was "only" a 50p on a £40 shop but the highest discrepancy I have found was for a total of £6. Again on an approx £40 shop. I've had it drummed into me since childhood that it is vital to check receipts but I…

Free Delivery hack
This is more of a long term plan than a quick hit saving and will 'cost' initially. Every few months I spend about £30 on household goods (cleaning items and some food items) from an online 'eco' retailer (I'd rather not name them directly as I don't want them to close the loophole). Orders are carriage paid for over £50,…

New 'LIDL PLUS' app
I've just has the weekly email from MSE and it mentions a new app, I've done a search but can't spot it on any of the shopping threads. I've got a query for anyone who's downloaded it please. Prior to downloading the app, it says there are several 'virtual vouchers' including a £5 off your next purchase of £25 or more, and…

Lidl Plus - benefits being watered down from September
Old Lidl plus scheme allowed £12 off over the month (and a free pastry) if you spent £200 in the month. At £50 spend = free pastry At £100 spend = £2 off coupon At £200 spend = £10 off coupon We normally managed to spend at least £200 a month on food shopping and so would typically get back £12 each month. From September:…

Home Bargains / B&M

best way to use a LOAD of Nectar points?
Over the years I've collected and ended up with 70k Nectar points. I used to spend them on the double deals thing (and still have a stock of kettlers and toasters!) but they discontinued that! All of the main spending deals seem... a bit weak :-) Any tips for the best way to splash a lot of Nectar? Or use it more wisely?

Sainsbury's Nectar, Smart Shop and So-Called Deals
Went to a different Sainsbury's store than usual, using their app - "Smart" shop. Bought crumpets (50p) and charged for Crepes (£1.75) but didn't realise until I got home. Rang Sainsbury's 0800 phone number (their complaints email no longer works) and was told the only way to get this sorted would be to return to the…

Aldi watery tinned baked beans
Worst tinned baked beans I have ever bought. Everyday essentials baked beans from Aldi. Watery and tasteless at 21p, you have got to expect it. But Asda and Iceland at 25p a tin. It's definitely worth the extra 4p. I'll not be buying them from Aldi anymore.
