Filtered Milk.
Asda today £1-46 per L purchased.
Sainsbury today listed at £1-90 per 2l =95p per L
Also, Asda Shades Balm Tissues twin pack £3 purchased today.
Out of 4 boxes, 2 twin packs, 4 yes 4 boxes where 1/2 EMPTY. Pos to almost SINK INDEX FINGER TO 2nd knuckle.
Is Asda taking us, like the energy and oil companies?
Maybe the government should take a peep at Asda profits.
It's not until you get home you realise.
All comments welcome.
Think maybe Waitrose are cheaper than Asda.

The new Asda rewards system has to be paid for somehow. As does the increasing amounts of interest on the debt it was loaded up with as part of the recent takeover…
I used to find Asda the cheapest of the mainstream supermarkets but not anymore. For some things, it is still cheapest but not reliably so anymore. For the filtered milk though, do Asda only sell it in 1l packs? Buying 1l will always be relatively more expensive per litre than buying a larger pack so could be a combination of all of the above making the difference.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

That makes Asda 2L prorata £2-92 ,. An EXCESS £1-02 over Sainsbury.
Re debt interest, that sounds like a Manchester United scenario.
Re the new rewards scheme,. A current topic complains pounds go missing, spent 100s from home.
Your contribution is welcome, thanks.

Looking at regular milk in Sainsburys, buying 2 pints is £1.30 but it is only another 35p for 4 pints (£1.65).

Many peeps may find the 4 pints to heavy.
Have edited my earlier post to respond to your Asda loyalty point.
Thanks for your responses.

I swapped back to Asda after doing comparison shops at other supermarkets, they are so much cheaper for what I buy, followed by Tesco, Morrisons, Ocado and finally Sainsburys
I love the rewards app too, cashed in £50 on my Christmas shop and am up to £9.61 now, which is so much more than I ever got at Tesco.Never have a problem with Asda products either.I hope your comment of Waitrose being cheaper was tongue in cheek? As much as I love Waitrose and do shop their, they are certainly not cheaper than Asda although they do have good offers.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Toilet Paper: I like the Nicky Elite. 32-pack quilted triple scented £8.79 at Home Bargains last time I looked.
Asda: I also find their prices not so keen as they used to be, except for whisky!
Waitrose: You can generally bank on their being more expensive, except for wine/beer/spirits dept. They have recently had the best price for Abbots in cans and would you believe it I actually bought reduced whisky from them a couple of months ago, a malt down from £47 to £14.99 46% alcohol and another to £12.99. (To quote another thread "no more whisky").
Sainsbury's: Whilst I do find their prices generally high, taking advantage of their 'Nectar Prices' and 'Sainsbury's Offers' on regular purchases can be well worth it. Bought yesterday: 4pt milk £1.65 but with 60 Nectar points effectively £1.35 (I get this offer every week), frozen pollock steaks 520g normal price £3,35, reduced price £1.60 but with 180 Nectar points effectively 70p. I frequently get back about 50% of what I spend in Nectar points, except when I buy whisky.

They have good deals.Sainsburys nectar points, in my opinion are almost worthless, it reduces prices of the odd thing to be in line with other supermarkets but to be fair, I would never buy meat or fish there.I think it’s what suits each individual according to what they buy eat week. Personally for me, it’s Asda but for some others, maybe not.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
