A little help with CCJ's and outstanding debt
Hello all, new user so go easy on me. A few years back I got myself in a mess mentally and financially. I did what at the time was I felt my only option and buried my head in the sand. Fast forward to this year and I've started to try and fix my finances. I've signed up to Experian, Credit Karma etc and started to sift…

CCJ - time frame between claim letter and issue.
Evening all, Ive got a bit of an odd issue and hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can shed some light on it. Should I go through with an AP?
Hi all, I have been reading around these forum's on what affect an AP would have on my rating longterm. Basically my situation is that I'm paying off my credit cards, and after all my outgoings I'm left with less than £30 a month. I have looked at what I can cut back on but found nothing. I'm not able to get a balance…

Financing a car and credit files
I had a search first, but I wasn't able to find an answer to something I was wondering about - How is car finance reflected on a credit file? I know an unsecured loan will show as simply a loan, but what about PCP, Hire Purchase or a loan secured against the car? How about finance provided by the manufacturer on a new car?…

Does checking your credit rating affect your rating?
As per the title. If I check my credit rating does it negatively affect my credit rating? I was refused a loan today. I am confused as to why as I have no debt or bad credit. I want to check my credit rating. I don't want to check my credit rating if it will affect me negatively. .

Broadband Credit Search Criteria
I noticed that Broadband services now require a credit check, even the ones for social tariffs. I called two companies to find out more, they were only able to say it was binary, you pass or don't pass. Can anyone please tell me if there is a specific score or how would the check be calculated?

My credit rating

my upper and lower jaw dentures are a problem. The dental company checked to
see if I could get a loan from the finance company they use and I was
refused the loan. The rate was 5.6%. I work
part-time. I also get PIP and disability…

CCJ from charge in 2016
Hi all I was looking at loans over the weekend and while doing a credit check, I discovered that I had a CCJ on against me that I had NO idea about. After doing a lot of chasing, it turned out that this had been for an unpaid parking fine (that I also didn't know about) from 2016. It's currently sitting at £369 and the…

Arrangement but NO Arrangement
I admittedly was late on a few payments on my Santander credit card. I ran a credit report on three separate agencies and on two of them these late payments are showing as Arrangements. How can this be he case when I haven't not agreed anything with them. Interestingly on the third agency they just show as late payments.

Identity theft advice - what now?
I've checked my credit report and there are a number of soft searches for insurance (presumably home insurance but could be other types with Admiral, Hastings and others) issued to my old home address (I couldn't redirect mail as it was a block of flats but I thought I'd changed everything over). I contacted Hastings and…

Is there a list of which agencies are used by various companies?
My credit record isn't great. I generally get a report from Clearscore each month, and a CCJ dropped off last month (for a Barclaycard that I never had). They show one defaulted card from 2019 (change of job etc. caused a few issues) that I'm paying back (although as there's no DD in place, and I'm just paying around the…

CCJ Set aside - tuition fees
Hi All, I have had a good read over the forum for advice but I just want to make sure I am clear. Bit of a long story so I will keep brief or as brief as I can.
