Equifax - Address not listed

Options
Good morning, a relative has been involved in an APP scam recently and has asked me to help them keep an eye on their credit files. We have set up the MSE Credit Club for Experian and Credit Karma for Trans Union without any issues. We have tried to set up Clear Score and directly with Equifax but their address isn't showing in the list. We have manually input the address and opened an account with Clear Score but it says they can't find any credit report with Equifax. Other flats in their building are listed. Does this mean that if someone tries to open an account in their name and Equifax is used for the search, they wouldn't be able to complete it as the address wouldn't be shown? is it worth trying to get their address listed or leave it as an extra security measure? They have paid for a CIFAS protective registration. Would it also be worth getting a notice of correction password added to their files? Thanks

It's not safe to assume that because they can't get access to their report, that someone else can't. I'd write to Equifax directly to request a copy of their "statutory credit report" under GDPR rules. Legally they can't ignore the request and have to respond in a prescribed amount of time. Equifax will probably ask for identity documents to confirm identity and address, so provide these and it should then allow them to get access to their reports. Formal complaint if/when they don't provide the requested info.

Thanks for the info PRAISETHESUN. I have raised a case with Equifax and requested the Statutory Credit report.
