The CIFAS protective registration service puts additional hurdles in the way of anyone (including you) trying to obtain credit in your name, but can't actually prevent this from happening. What are JD Williams saying about what's occurred?0

They are investagating it as i reported it to be fraud, i was informed i wont have to pay for any items ive got bought, on my credit report it says it has only a £125 limit, im so worried about this, ivd had Cifas for just under two years nothing has happened before, i fell for a scam back in Dec 2020eskbanker said:The CIFAS protective registration service puts additional hurdles in the way of anyone (including you) trying to obtain credit in your name, but can't actually prevent this from happening. What can you do?
Re-check your Credit Files with all three agencies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. You can do this for free.
Check out MyPAS (Supported by North Yorkshire Police) compare it with CIFAS Protective Registration.
or, you could write to all three agencies and have them password protect your credit file. (Scroll down the page)
The solution to ID Fraud
Hope this helps. Good luck.
