Bank approved mortgage and declined -after audit

Wondering if someone can advise me on that, Barclays approved our mortgage on the 1st of November 2022 , we were happy and were busy shopping for new house stuff. we got an email which was forwarded by our broker that bank need our pay slips, statements and proof of deposit again and statements should show that deposit if building up along with the P60's of all previous jobs. Should not be an issue, my HR was delayed providing me the P60 therefore i screen shot it from the HMRC website and forwarded everything back to them. After couple of days i got a call from broker that our mortgage has been declined and bank did not provide any feedback about what went wrong. Bank letter stated that " we could not verified the information you provided and as per our risk assessment we are declining your application." which is totally ridiculous. Points to be noted
My broker said he cannot appeal or get involved because Barclays fraud team picket up our case
I called Bank and waiting for SAR -still waiting for the reports
our Cifa and Experian reports are cleared
Bank put "REFER" marker and not reason provided on National Hunters Report
we have complained to the Bank to remove it and provide us more information
Nothing has been changed on our side in terms of Job, Paslips etc. why Bank did nt do any checks at the first place and why the refused after audit. Broker is not providing us any information.
Note: my wife started working in March 2022 and i have been working since September 2020 after being a civil servant for 9 months i got a Job in Feb2022 with significant pay increase
From 30k to 70K
Please advise should i go for another mortgage application which having REFER marker on Hunter or should i fight with the Bank . It says i will stay there for 6 years but they are not providing any reason. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated
Thanks
Ali

Because the purpose of an audit is to make further checks on the process.
'Refer' isn't a negative, so speak to a decent broker and apply elsewhere.2 -
I have been in contact with different brokers around , due to which i was directed to Hunter and Cifas. Now while talking to the new one he has made us scare that it will be risk to apply while having REFER marker on Hunter. Clear it first.0

Also please advise me something.
My Cifa and experian report is clear. NH has everything clear and no reason given but on another page they just highlighted "Refer" . Is that means overall application has refer?0 -
It means lenders are advised to refer to the lender that placed the marker.
They may or may not do so.0 -
Thanks Morningcoffee!! That means in case lender check the marker and may agree with the marker lender. I'm so confused 😕 Barclays never provided me any explanation apart from that I need to provide good working history for which I provided payslips and HMRC screen shot of previous jobs.My misses only started working in 2022. Why Barclays think its a fraud......which doesn't make any sense at all.i was a civil servant in me last job and was buying help to buy which had already been approved. So what was the issue 🤔. They approve the mortgage and than after a week declined in the Audit even after I provided all the required documents. Moreover they put my name in NH.Please shed some light on it . Thanks0
