Does egg want us to forget about its anniversary 0% transfer offer?
I was eligible to make a 0% transfer to my egg card for five months during the anniversary month of opening the card last year and for a final time this year. Last year, I received phone calls and e-mails in the run-up to the period urging me to take advantage of the offer. This year, nothing. Instead, I was offered…

Hi I have been told today via email that my Goldfish Visa card account is going to change to a Morgan Stanley Mastercard because MS do not have a licence to issue Visa cards. They also say that my account on the website will not be correct until the new card is issued. The "Perks" will remain the same. Has anyone else been…

I recently applied for a Capital One card, and on the original application form said I wanted to transfer a balance of £9,600. When I told my DFW Buddy, she told me I'd be lucky to get a credit limit big enough, and suggested I apply for a Halifax card as well. So I did. Halifax responded quicker so I transferred half my…

I'm writing a piece on student credit cards, but am not mathematically-minded enough to work this out: £500 purchase on a card (nothing else) 18.9% APR only make minimum repayments of 3% or £5 or balance if less than £5 Summary box says £81.17 interest in the first year, £67.33 in the second year, total time to clear debt…

Egg 3.9% balance transfer actually 9.9%!
Egg have today emailed out an offer of 3.9% balance transfers until 1st Nov (approx 5 months), however there is a transfer fee of 2.5% which is uncapped! I figure this therefore actually equates to an APR equivalent of nearer 10%!? Is this legal? Are credit card companies allowed to quote rates without an equivalent APR?…
