All,

In your experience what credit cards do you find you're turned down for (supplier say MBNA) and which are easiest to get??

Cheers

Thought it would just be an interesting thread to start..... perhaps helping those that haven't got A*'s for credit reports! :)

There is no correct answer you're correct, but give a few answers and we may spot some correlation!

GE money is very hard to get.
Many people like myself with excellent credit rating and six figure household incomes have been turned down.
Perhaps they are picking customers with less good credit ratings who are more likely to pay interest.

    Who knows?

I think you may be on to something (I got turned down too) - the only other rejection I ever had was the Texaco card lob offer just before it was pulled.
    I think....

That's good to know, if someone got accepted for a GE card that hasn't got such as good credit rating (in their own opinion) let us know so we can see if what lisyloo reckons is right.

I think the MBNA's are the easiest to get but the HBOS hardest to get.

Capital One seems to be very easy to get - well they gave me (by far) the biggest credit limit.

I'd third that. I was turned down too - excellent credit rating (according to Experian/Equifax reports) and six figure household income. GE run Selfridges and Harrods store cards, both of which I have had for years. Mostly I would have paid these off in full each month and I imagine they know they won't make much money out of me.

MBNA, in all their permutations, are by far the best for me for CL.

Most exclusive credit cards(so maybe hardest to get) could be American Express Centurion(by invitation only), Visa Signature and World MasterCard cards.

Well Sainsbury's turned me down! I don't have a six figure salary, but according to Equifax I have a great credit rating. ahve a mortgage and two CC's with about £200 quid on each, which get paid every month without fail. Not sure why I was refused, could it be they thought I had too much credit already with my mortgage, as I am only 20yrs?? I thought they like getting you into debt, not helping you so that you dont!
