Nationwide increasing credit card interest rate by 50%
Ouch, I have just received a letter from Nationwide saying that they are increasing my credit card interest rate by a whopping 50%. I have a members-only card that I have had for a good number of years, and until now it was charging a fair and not unreasonable interest rate of 9.9%, which was perfectly reasonable for the…

High income, no debt - why won't Barclaycard increase my limit?
A little while back I applied for a Barclaycard on a 0% for spending for 23 months deal. I was accepted with a £6.5k limit. Basically I would like to use as much as I can on the card, in order to build up some savings that will earn interest in the meantime, but in the medium term can also be used to pay for some…

S75 with 2 credit cards
Hi, as I understand it S75 with payment split across 2 credit cards is fine, and either card company could be made liable for the full amount (but not both for full, I.e. indemnification principle). The payment on each is over 100 and less than 30000. Does this sound correct please? Thanks

Hi, I have about £14k on 2 credit cards that are on 0% deals until mid 2026. I am in a position to pay them off, the min payment is £250pm. ADDITIONAL CREDIT CARD HOLDER
I want to apply for a credit card, that allows my 16 year old daughter to become an additional cardholder. I am sure that Martin Lewis recently stated there were some companies that allowed it, but not all reported it to Experian etc. The reason is to build up a credit score for her. I have found old posts relating to it,…

https://www.amazon.co.uk/test/dp/B0BH98211K Doesn't let me apply yet, but I'd be ineligible on account of holding an existing Barclaycard. £50 reward for signing up 1% at Amazon, 0.25% elsewhere (boosted to 2%/1% for first 6 months then 1%/0.5% for months 7-12) 4% rewards during "key shopping events like Prime Day" No…

Applying for a student credit card with an overdraft
Hi, I'm 18 and currently a student. I have a student bank account with HSBC, and currently have a £927 overdraft out of the total arranged £1000. This is because I've put it into a cash ISA to earn some interest on it - I'm very on top of my money, so I'm not worried about spending more than I owe. My question is: I would…

Paying credit card before statement is issued
Hi, I've been finding conflicting advice as to whether paying off my credit card before the statement has been issued is a good or bad thing. Some people seem to think because the debt & payment aren't recorded on a statement then the CRA's will have no record of it, whereas other people seem to think that the payments…

Where to start with credit cards
Hi, I have managed to get into late 40's without ever having a credit card. I am travelling more these days and unsure which card would be the best for that, plus plan on using one for a larger purchase. Do I go for 0% interest or zero fees for spending abroad, or is there one that covers all? #clueless.
