NatWest 0% credit card – no first payment taken despite DD being set up?

EDIT!!!!!!!
I had misread the email, which I still think is a little misleading it meant I cannot add MORE balance to what I currently have Doh!
Your offer to transfer a balance at 0% is about to end soon |
Credit Card account ending 2324 |
Hi all,
Hoping someone can help or share if they’ve had a similar experience.
I took out a NatWest 0% balance transfer credit card at the end of August and transferred my existing balance over straight away. I paid the balance transfer fee at the time, and also set up a Direct Debit for monthly payments (I chose a fixed amount rather than minimum payments).
Here’s what has now happened:
-
The card and transfer were completed in late August
-
No payment was taken in September
-
The first Direct Debit came out in October (for more than the minimum payment, so it’s definitely active now)
-
My credit file shows no missed payments or late marks
-
And today, I’ve received this email from NatWest about my 0% balance transfer offer “ending soon” — which doesn’t make sense since I only opened the card a couple of months ago
I’m now on hold for 40+ minutes trying to get through to someone, but no luck so far. Their chatbot originally told me I could send a secure message, but I clicked “speak to someone” and now I can’t get back to that option (typical!).
Has anyone else had this issue — where no first payment was taken despite the DD being set up from day one? And does anyone know the best way to get through to NatWest or send them a message without spending an hour on hold?
Losing the will to live listening to their hold music, so any advice appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Jamie

Often 1st DD is not taken as the DD is not set up in time for the 1st balance to be picked up.Life in the slow lane0
