Lloyds Switch Mar 24
Hello, we have recently done a current account switch to Lloyds. It was suggested on MSE as one of the best switches at the time (19th March 2024). We now can’t find anything on MSE about the Lloyds Switch, and they have said we are not eligible because of the type of account we signed up for. However, we don’t recall MSE…

Fraudster capabilities and very suspicious account activity
A local business owner has had some real difficulties with fraud of late which I'd love to have and explanation for but I don't! Hopefully someone on here does, however I doubt it's going to offer any reassurances. Starting from the beginning, he tried to buy an old shipping container for extra storage, paid by debit card…

Bank accounts closed for a 19 yo - apparently fraud
NatWest closed my 19 yo son’s account apparently for money laundering/fraud. Someone put £1000 in his account, he won’t tell me what’s happening. He either doesn’t know or he is threatened. He tried opening another account with Lloyds but they closed it after a few days without reason. Where can he enquire what is about…

Removal of a joint account holder
My (ex) partner has not used our joint account since we split up about 14 years ago. I still use the account. Because of the account my partner is still listed as a 'connection' on my credit reports. I would like to remove her name and she would have no objection. However - I do not want to / cannot contact her. Online…

How's this for identifying genuine/fraudulent phone calls?
I've just received an email from my bank announcing a new measure in place, which seems to be a simple but effective way to verify that it's genuinely the bank calling me, and not a fraudster, when I receive such a call: I realise that not everyone wants to use banking apps, and the system may be less simple for banks that…

Keep money in an ISA and pay less deposit on Mortgage, or lay down bigger deposit
Hello I have approx 170,000 in an ISA. A property may be becoming up on the market for say around 300K. With my partner's savings, we could have 230,000 in savings. Would it be better to lay down the money on a deposit, or would it be better to keep some in my ISA? Just wondering if having money kept in ISA would off set…
