Thinking of going for a water meter
Hi all, A colleague at work (who is a plumber by trade) recommended that I should opt for a meter in my property. It's a larger property that will be occupied by only myself primarily. I work full time Mon to Fri, so most water use will be evenings and weekends. I shower everyday, and would like to wash the car once a…

Very high bill....
Six monthly water bill is £310:eek: Only two of us in house. We are metered and certainly not extravagant with water. Hardly ever wash cars, washing machine going 2-3 times per week, dishwasher once per week. Only difference in this six months is that OH has been at home due to illness and so have to put the increase down…

More than 1 house on our water meter
Hi, Need some advise. My partner had a water meter fitted 3 nears ago. He has questioned the bill a few times, but always been told that there has been a leak etc, but it has finally been proved, thanks to a local resident, that his water supply is for at least 3 properties, and so his meter has been registering the usage…

Cutting back on water usage
Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to cut my usage. I received my bill today for water and sewerage which was for £150, for 6 months (which I was expecting to be around this figure). I live on my own - so this is quite a high figure (according to my water company's website). This works out at £25/month. In my old…

Reduced water bill
After moving to the coast it has come to my attention that we are all throwing away an opportunity of a tip top money saving device. I just collect sea water. Put that in the tank and live off of it! My last water bill was £0.00. Sure, it took a wee while to acclimatise to the taste, but now I LOVE the stuff.

Water charge too high?
Hi i have had my new bill for the 10/11 tax year for £381.43. I live in a one bed flat, with no washing machine nor dishwasher. My RV is £161. My waste water charge is £201.25 and water charge is £180.18. I am unsure if this is high and am pretty certain that I can not have a water meter. Any comments/help is very welcome.…

It smells of chemicals like at a bad swimming pool :S I called Thameswater and they said it's because they had some work done in the area and I should be patient but it's been over a week. Does anyone know any water inspection companies? What should I…

Shock & Horror my Water Bill!
We have a meter with East Anglia Water, usually our bill is around £ 120 and has been like this for the past 10 years. We were horrified to receive a bill for August to November '09 of nearly £ 3,000! Our water usage is always the same for 2 people and a cat. Together with this bill, there was also the one for December '09…

He says that his swd does NOT run into the public sewer but into soak aways. He's seen that he can apply for a rebate but wondered if all prior years payments will be repaid. (doing his nut!)…
