Water Meter

Options
Hi all, just looking for some advice really.

I live in a two bed flat with my wife and no kids, we are both proffesionals who are out every day.

We each have a shower every morning, washing up twice a day, wachine machine 3-4 times a week.

We are on a water meter and are paying £43.00 per month and barely staying in credit!!

Is this right?

I have checked the meter setup and there are 18 meters for 18 flats and my meter is definatly feeding my flat.

Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong here?

    Who is your supplier?

The charges can vary greatly depending which area of the country you live in.

You need to do a flow test

Turn off the water in your flat and check if " your " meter is moving > If it is then call your water company.

I would ask though, What kind of shower is it ?

Having a similar set up to you, your bill sounds about right (I'm with Anglian Water). I pay £47 a month and thats about right for me.

My husband showers every day. I'm a bath person every couple of days. Washing machine 2-3 times a week.
  • The more saline the water the higher the conductivity. This is because of the Na and Cl ions dissolved in the water. To use it to measure salinity you must compare it against solutions of known salinity.

With 18 meters in one block, have you double checked that the physical meters nos match the billing reference no?
I'm assuming that the readings are actual, not estimated, and agree with your own readings?
