in Water bills
Six monthly water bill is £310:eek: Only two of us in house.
We are metered and certainly not extravagant with water. Hardly ever wash cars, washing machine going 2-3 times per week, dishwasher once per week.
Only difference in this six months is that OH has been at home due to illness and so have to put the increase down to toilet flushes, which seems incredible.
We are now trying to cut back even more because Wessex Water want to up the monthly direct debit to £52:eek:
I think I would rather be like the people who pay on the old RV, at least they don't have to constantly worry about how much they use.

It does seem a bit excessive for just the two of you.
Turn everying off and have a look at your meter, if its still running you have a leak somewhere.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

There are only us 2 in our house and our water has gone down to £16 a month, so yours is very high.
My hubby is home all day too.
Have you put a hippo in the toilet as this will save you some money, phone your water co and ask for one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Yes have hippos in all toilets.
I have thought our water charge has been exceptionally high for years. I even got water company out to fit a new meter and we have monitored the readings when we go away, but it seems to be working OK.
I just can't understand how we can use so much. We use water butts for any garden watering, very rarely wash cars, use dishwasher usually only once per week and have cut washing machine down to a couple of times a week. We do have a power shower, but OH has turned the power down on that now. We don't leave taps running when brushing teeth and don't put more than the required amount of water in the kettle.
We are aiming to try and get down to the average of 10 units per month.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0
