Subwoofer Hun (ground loop?)
Not sure if this is the best forum for it but anyway...for a while I’ve had a problem with an audible hum from my subwoofer in a 5.1 home cinema setup. It’s connected to a Denon AV receiver on the other side of the room by a cable that runs under the floor. I’ve tried all sorts of things to eliminate it, disconnecting…

Can't log in to my Home Hub 5!
The WiFi signal from my Virgin router is poor at best, not helped by its position in the front corner of a largish L shaped house. So, to get better WiFi coverage I bought a cheap BT Home Hub 5 to use as a WiFi signal. I logged in to it, turned off the DHCP and set the address to 192.168.0.254 (or at least that is what I…

Porting iPad to TV?
The other day my wife wanted to watch a programme on catch up. I can't remember if it was BBC or ITV. Problem was it wasn't loaded on the catch up player on the TV but it was if she used the catch up on the iPad. Apparently there's been about 6 episodes this series but the TV is only showing the first 3 whereas the iPad…

LED bulbs to replace old candle bulbs
We have a brass 3 arm pendant light with upright candle bulbs. These bulbs have been withdrawn so the replacements will have to be an LED that vaguely resembles an upright candle. I'm just wondering if LED bulbs can be upright or whether they can only be used in the hanging down position

Pensioner friendly tablet device
My elderly mother would like a tablet device but she's not very tech-savvy. Is there a tablet device we could Facetime etc on that's easy to use?
