LED bulbs to replace old candle bulbs

We have a brass 3 arm pendant light with upright candle bulbs.

These bulbs have been withdrawn so the replacements will have to be an LED that vaguely resembles an upright candle.

I'm just wondering if LED bulbs can be upright or whether they can only be used in the hanging down position

LEDs don't care where you fit them, no loose filament to cause any direction issues.

Candle bulbs are still available.

They can be fitted anyway you want as they, for pendants i always recommend Toshiba crystals as they seem to fit in with these types of styles.

The problem with the usual LED bulbs is the plastic bit which blocks light. That's why they are used in the down position. The problem can be fixed by using LED Filament bulbs which provide all-round light. I bought LED Filament candle bulbs for my bedside lamps from Wilko for a fiver each.

I have a candle bulb pendant with 5 60w bulbs connected to a dimmer switch but to changed them to LED I would need to change the dimmer to one that is compatible with LED. Now I use a 30w LED floor lamp for my main light so using 300w an hour is now used infrequently.

Whatever you get make sure they're "warm white". the "cool" ones are cold and blue.

Excuse me OP I've just used this reply to search for E14 ses led candle bulbs.
11.99 6 pack -unbelievable, I'm ordering these.
Of all my bulb in my 1 bedroom flat, I have purchased one energy saving old school type bulbs for bathrooom £7 -though what a nice bright light -amazing.
I could use 6 ses bulbs for living room, bedroom,hall.

Make sure you get the cool white / daylight ones .... the 'warm' ones are so orange!
