I know that motherboards in computers have a penny shape battery that keeps the cmos settings and time in memory, but what about routers, modems dongles etc, how do they retain the APN/SSID/port forwarding settings in their memory? I took a few apart and didn't notice any batteries in them. Do they store the memory on a…

I was wondering if any knowledgeable people could give me some guidance on how to subscribe to a thread when logged in on your mobile device. I can't see anything obvious on the thread itself and a Google search didn't throw up any immediate answers either. Help appreciated. Thanks.

In car music problems with iPhone 6
Hello Have been playing Spotify via a USB lead in my 13 plate Corsa for ages on my iPhone 6. Recently after the last Apple software update it won't recognise the USB anymore and subsequently the music won't play. We have tried it in another car and it wont play in there either. We tried an iPhone 5 that was updated with…

Blu-ray ripping software
What's a good, inexpensive program for ripping Blu-ray films to a single video file? I just want to have digital copies of certain titles I already own, for use on my network media player etc. There doesn't seem to be any freeware that is up to the job, so it looks like I'll have to go down the paid route. I have trialled…

Tablet for a 5 year old
Hi, I am debating about what tablet to get for my 5 year old. My oldest has a google nexus 7 (2012) and that is fine for what she uses it for. He will mainly be using it to watch films and play games/apps. It won't be used that much - more for car journeys things like that so I don't want to spend too much money on it. I…
