Infrequent computer hangs and live chat
Since installing Windows 8 (fresh install), my PC tends to freeze every couple of days. Usually there's no apparent reason for it, and WhoCrashed doesn't identify any problems. I have realised now that using Live Chat seems to cause the computer to hang on most occasions in the same way. I don't use them often but after…

Will they try to force Windows 10 on people?
At the moment I am avoiding update downloads for the installation of Windows 10 on my laptop. The fact that, on the last bunch of updates, I did untick one update related to windows 10, to see it installed anyway, do not fill me with confidence. My gripe with window 10 is that I apparently will not be able to chose or…

Really worried about this because I can't afford a computer MOT or any help that costs money. I am up to my eye balls in bills and can't take out any credit. Normalisation of AAC audio files...?
I have some AAC audio files that I want to put on an old iPod. The only problem is that they play at different volumes. Is there any software I can use to normalise the files... And can this be done losslessly (without decoding the AAC and transcoding again)? Cheers in advance for any suggestions :)

Slow PC start - even to Bios
I have built myself a media server based on FreeNAS. It has been working very well for a few months but I discovered that I had made a mistake by using non-ECC ram. Some say it is not a big mistake but the more I looked into it I decided it was too much of a potential problem so I decided to rebuild it with another OS.…

Playing songs bought from a now-closed web store with WMP 12
I bought a digital copy of an album from either the MSN Music UK or HMV web stores back in around 2007/2008, which I then saved onto my computer that was running Windows XP SP3 and Windows Media Player (WMP) 11. I backed up my licences and kept a spare copy safe in case I needed it later. Fast forward to now, where my PC…

Where can I buy GENUINE Samsung batteries? (s3 mini)
Hi, I have bought 4 replacement batteries for my s3 mini and although they all look official, none of them hold a charge any better than the old original battery. But since looking at two videos on YouTube, and removing the sticky cover of the batteries, two are definitely fakes, and the other two I can't tell. But they do…
