Samsung laptop - mousepad problems

My Samsung laptop, about a couple of years old, running on Win 8.1 but with Classic Shell/Win 7, and experiencing mousepad problems with it.

If the cursor is about half or two-thirds of the way to the right- hand side of the screen, when I then move it to the left the Charms bar and that stupud clock thing appear. Other times, the cursor seems to take on a life of it's own, sometimes when clicking something it dives up to the extreme top left corner of the screen.

To be honest, I've never been over impressed with this mousepad, but something has definitely gone wrong now. Is this liable to be a software or hardware ussue?

Update/ reinstall the mousepad drivers .

It could well be a dodgy pad. Use a mouse instead and see if that works ok.

Get a mouse. I have the same set up as you and never had any problems but then again I have never used the pad.:D
