Can you use bluetooth headphones on this sound board?

Options
My friend's OH is starting a new job - though its overnights. They have this http://www.richersounds.com/product/soundbars-sound-base/denon/dhtt110/deno-dht110-blk as their soundboard, which is bluetooth enabled.

Now, if my friend wants to watch tv when OH is asleep, she wants to listen via some wireless headphones.

Now in the instruction leaflet, bluetooth can be used as a wireless speaker for bluetooth enabled devices like tablets, laptops to stream music wirelessly.

No mention of headphones. She is worried that if she buys bluetooth headphones and don't work, then she cannot return them for a refund.

It look a lot of faffing to set up the board and the tv audio output. The reason she is asking this is that bluetooth headphones are cheaper than the FM transmitting ones. Does need to buy expensive ones - around £50.

I think you've got this the wrong way round ... the soundbar is the speaker. The bluetooth part is a receiver, so you can wirelessly play music etc. from other devices and have the sound coming out of the soundbar.

That's right. The DHT110 has no output capabilities apart from its own speakers. You can't connect one output device (headphones) to another output device (soundbase) and expect to get anything out of either. I have a DHT110 and it was about the simplest thing to set up I've ever bought!
  • As above, you won't connect bluetooth headphones to the soundbar, but to the TV instead.

My dad has wireless headphones and they came with a receiver that plugged into the headphone jack on the TV and the headphones connected to that. When he's using that the soundbar doesn't figure into it.

If her TV have 3.5mm headphone output, you can get a wireless headphone or bluetooth transmitter to use with your existing bluetooth headset
