I have a Win7 Laptop wired into my BT Homehub 4 - I also have a Win 8 Laptop that connects wirelessly to the internet but the Win 8 laptop can not access the printer attached to the Win 7 laptop or it's files.

An someone please tell me how to do this?

right click on the printer icon from within "devices and printers"
    Choose printer properties
    Click on the sharing tab
    tick "share this printer"

Someone will come along and tell you the way to share your files by method of workgroup or homegroup.
which is the best way in your situation I would think.

If they don't, then ill come back and tell you how to share folders like on a corperate network

Andy makes a valid point ... are both machines configured in the same Homegroup?

If not it isn't too hard to do do - a Google search should give the exact method for setting it up.
