Accessing hotmail offline
I want to access hotmail whilst offline, like travelling on a train, whereas, I would syncronise/download my mail before I leave for work, and then I can read my mail during my commute. I have narrowed it down to Thunderbird, but I was wondering if Windows Live Mail can do exactly the same job, and if it is any better?

Freeview box with i-player built in?
Due to the imminent switchover in our region, we're looking at freeview boxes. Is there such a thing as a Freeview box with i-player built in? We can get i-player through the Wii, but DH & DD have moved this to the spare bedroom.

Laptop recommendation for journalist
Evening all. I know there are plenty of threads with people asking for laptop recommendations, but this one is a bit more specific. I'm quite knowledgable when it comes to laptops, but as there are plenty of better qualified people on here, I thought I would ask for help. I'm a journalist on the hunt for a new laptop. I'd…

Am now looking for a multi region dvd recorder with a harddrive. Budget is below £250 but will extend it if worth it. It must be multi region or be easily converted to multi…

Any computer progammers out there
My apologies if I am posting this to the wrong board but I have a puzzle which is driving me bonkers. Moderators, feel free to move my post to a suitable forum. In my spare time I do geocaching, a sort of high (ish) tech treasure hunt. For more information go here. One of my local caches has a puzzle to work out to get the…

Can you fix an Asus eee pc power jack?
I have an Asus eee pc 904HA, its about 2+ years old now and has been a trusty little netbook. Intel T4500 or P6000? Only £15 difference.
I'm looking at two Acer Aspire laptops - all I have is the spec on the website, which I don't entirely understand - the T4500 (£350) is 2.3 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, and the P6000 (£365) is 1.86 GHz, 3MB L3 cache. Both are 3GB RAM and 320GB Hardrive, all other specs are the same. Which is the better processor for me - I don't…
