Online Banking updates too slowly
Hi everyone. My name is Matt and I'm new to the forums although I have been following the site and it's ideas for a while now. I thought this would be as good a place as any to post my concerns. I am a student on a year abroad placement in Austria meaning that while I must do transactions through my UK bank account, I do…

Premium Bonds
Apart from dropping the win rate to 1.8% has anybody else noticed that if you are a lucky winner the cheque takes longer to arrive? I have held a substantial number of bonds for a couple of years and have regularly won the odd £50. At one time the cheque would arrive by the 13th of the month now it can be as late as the…

£5,000 In Kaupthing Edge- Should I Move It?
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Hi, In November 2008, I put £5,000 in Kaupthing Edge. I received an email from ING recently which told me the new rate was: 3.55% AER (3.49% gross p.a.) I'd be grateful for any advice on whether I should move this money elsewhere to get a better deal- and, if so, where might it…

ING Account annoyance
Hi everyone, About a month ago I signed up for an ING account via a referral to benefit from the free £25. This worked fine for me and I was setup within a matter of days. The problem is that my girlfriend also obtained a referral from a friend and after a month she still can't access the account. Plus the cheque is…

Depositing Saved Change into Banks (only accept 5 bags)
Forgive me if this has been discussed anywhere before. I have quite a few bags of change ready to be put into the bank. Although the bank has told me that I can only deposit 5 bags at a time. This is a bit of a hassle. Does anyone know how or where I can deposit/change the money in one go. Thanks

Ing
I have accounts in ING, also my Kaupthing Edge savings. Went on site to move my money yesterday and found this is now not allowed online. Could not get thru on landline either. Do I panic and get out fast or trust the government's so-called promise to cover savings under£50k? What do you think is going on?

ING drops rate
ING has dropped its rate for new customers to 4% AER (variable of 2% plus bonus). I'm not quite sure what this means for those who opened when it was at 5.1% (including bonus of 2.17%) as they seem to talk about their underlying on bonus rates at gross rather than AER. But I'm guessing this means 4.17% for those who opened…

LloydsTSB Shares
Any thoughts on what the impact of the LTSB-HBOS merger is likely to have upon the LloydsTSB share value, which rallied on Friday & particularly on Monday (peaked around 145) but has gone into freefall these past 2 days (closed at 117.2).

Mandelshon dismisses savers woes..
C4 19:00 News After Varley (Barclays Bank supremo) had said something should be done by HMG on tax breaks for savers, Mandelson cost his party some support IMHO....when asked to comment by saying dismissively '..we have already in play considerable incentives for savers...er.. they've already got Individual Savings…

Child savings account
Hi all We are now, luckily, in a position to put away some money every month for our little boy. Is there any good savings accounts out there for children with a good intrest rate?
