Euro in relation to FX
http://www.babypips.com/blogs/currency_currents/looms_and_erm_risks_rise.html Interesting bit of reading about the possible effects of the credit crunch on the euro. For my own two pence, I think the Euro will either come out of this as a stronger currency and we'll end up joining, or it'll collapse completely. I can't…

Spanish Lottery & AOL scams.Take care.
Yesterday I received a very authentic looking email asking if for credit card details as there appeared to be a problem with my account. It appeared to come from AOL, same logo etc. I reported it to them but their responses were just the standard ones at first. They now seem to have got the message. Today, I received a…

Just a thought- If you were going to invest your money on the stock market, would you want your investment protected?? West Bromwich
I feel like I'm missing something here. Can anyone help? The West Bromwich building society offers a 1 year fixed term bond at 4.65% AER. I'm thinking of doing it, but I'm suspicious about how they can offer a rate so much higher than equivalent rates at most other institutions. Is there a catch? LloydsTSB, for example,…

savings bond
I wonder if I am right about the function of the savings bond: You put money for a certain time ( 'x' months or 'x' years). After it matures, the money goes to a nominated instant savings account, then the 'bond' account will revert back to £0 and you put money in the 'bond' account and starts again. Am I correct?

My mum opened a Tesco saver account and has received an application form in the post but is a bit confused by the direct debit form (and I am too).
