FTSE 100 ETFs
Hi, I'm interested in buying a FTSE 100 ETF tracker. I was looking at Barclays ishares, and am thinking of putting in a lump sum of a couple of thousand at first. I was also going to do a direct debit each month, but at £12.95 per trade, this seems a very expensive way to add money each month. Is this the only way of doing…

Advice on 100k savings - all in Tesco bad idea?
I have best part of 100k earning fairly crappy interest. Just opened my Tesco account with 3.6 +1.5 = 5.1% interest for now. Do you think it would be foolish to put all 100k in there? I know only 50k is covered but Tesco seems like as safe a bet as you could get. My alternative would be to open the INGdirect account with…

Abbey National Regular Saver
Last October I applied for an Abbey National Regular Saver by handing in an application form in a branch. I was told by a cashier that it was ok and he took photocopies of my id, and said I would receive the account details shortly. A couple of weeks later I still hadn't received any details or paperwork so I rang customer…

Cheshire bond applications delays?
Anyone else still waiting for replies or cheques to be cashed for their 4.75% bond which closed on Mon 5 January or the 4.5% bond which closed shortly afterwards? My letter should have got there by the 5th but there doesn't seem to be any sign of life in Macclesfield. Has their "customer service" been swamped by demand, or…

Best Portfolio Site
Can anyone recommend a good site for keeping a record of my portfolio?. I have looked at this in the past but found that some don't let me keep cash accounts, only shares or funds. I had it all sorted with Financial Express but now, whatever I do or they suggest, I cannot log in.

Can you hold 2 ISAs
Hi I am hoping someone can help me. I have been looking at First Direct as they are offering a regular payment cash ISA at 7% but they will not allow transfers in from another ISA within the 12 months. I am confused as I thought you could only hold one ISA at any one time - is this not the case? Can I keep my current ISA…

Interactive Investor Funds Builder Vs Multimanager funds.
Further to my last thread on multi-manager funds here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1404415 I've now come across this site http://www.iii.co.uk/funds/?type=builder which appears to allow 'investments' of as little as £20pm with no initial charge (am I right)? In which case, it is clearly more of…

Ripped off by financial advisor? Ombudsman?
I am posting to gain some advice for a relative of mine who feels that they may have been placed in an inappropriate investment by their financial advisor. I have tried searching through past posts for similar cases and also for forums where this sort of thing might be discussed, but I've not had much luck (I suppose each…

I opened one of these online on the 7th Jan when I received Martins weekly mailshot. This was the 4.5% + 1.5% bonus offer. Today I got the documentation through for it, all dated 7th Jan but theres no mention anywhere of the bonus rate. There is a glossy rates leaflet enclosed but that just shows the standard rates as of…

Re: Lloyds TSB ISA
Hi, would it not be a good idea to sign up for this and then if a better one is found within the next couple of months, could I then transfer to that one. Or are you obligated to keep the fixed rate ISA withTSB? Plus the advantage of taking this offer up means the ISA will begin immediately from the date stated, whereas if…

Best deal for six month fixed rate saver?
Hi, In this news item http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/fixed-rate-savings the Derbyshire Building Society is recommended as the best 6 month fixed rate deal. Looking at their website, it seems I've missed the boat for them as they no longer offer that bond. Is there another 6 month fixed rate deal that people could…

When to switch your ISA
Hello! I took out an ISA in September which following Mr Lewis' advice, was the best rate at the time with HSBC. The rate has bombed and there are better deals out there now, so my question is: I have £3600+interest in my ISA at the moment and would like to add a further £3600 after April. If I took out a new ISA now, can…

Advice on Corporate Bond Investment
Am considering putting £3600 into the Investo Perpetual Corporate Bond via the Hargreaves Lansdown Vantage Stocks & Shares ISA. With a running yield at 7.7% which is variable and not guaranteed what do people think of this type of investment. I see £3600 as a small punt to use up this years ISA allowance of £7200 and would…
