:xmastree: :xmastree: :xmastree: :xmastree: :xmastree: Can anyone reccommend a good xmas savings account. We had a great one last year that offered o% interest BUT gave you a 10% bonus at the end of the year if you kept it there.
Can't find anything suitable at the moment any one got any ideas?
We are farepak VICTIMS so are nervous.
As a family we are saving about £150 a month

why not just find a reasonable ISA and stick it in there?
these christmas saving things are all a big scam anyway - its nothing you cant do alone with a bank account and then some shopping yourself.
£150 x 12 = £1800, which is half the cash ISA allowance (£3600) per year, so you could save it all up, spend it all and save it again and be no worse off and get a tax free 3% or so on it, and you get to keep in there what you dont spend for future years thus earning futher money.
maybe look at something like northern rock or yorkshire building society, but check the ISA page on MSE... or alternativly take a look about your town or who you would like to bank with, and check out them individual banks - remember, its not all about the interest % at the end of the day, its also about comfort and stability.
and if you are trying to save £1000 for a new baby then you can also save in there too!Mr & Mrs Doomcow Wedding Fund: £10200/£18000 (by 04/2012) (spent £2000)

If its a disciplined "Christmas Saver" account you need, look at the Regular Savings thread. There's accounts in there intended for that purpose. The Skipton BS one looked quiet good(I have their special saver, which is also good for amounts similar to yours).
And if you're worried after Farepak, remember that the government guarentees your money in the listed banks/building societies."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0 -
hey babies are not necessarily expensive. He is three now, but I was 6 months pregnant when I finished my first year at university and moved in with my partner on about 6 quid an hour with just £60 of my student loan left, no savings and no job (just about to finish 4 year course and now considering a Masters).
We have had everything borrowed and he's a little star. No need to spend £1000's on babies in just a year or 2.0 -
Sorry the £1000 is to pay for my drugs for IVF once pregnant I'll worry about the rest:happyhear YUMMY MUMMY TO HENRY BEAR AGED 10:happyhearslimming world need to get back to target 25lb to goDisney World here we come May 2018:j0
