Natwest bank help please..

Hi i currently bank with Abbey for my sins and have been saying for a long time i wanted to change banks as mine are useless, had a few episodes where i have not been able to do things through the bank manager yet the girl on the counter manages and just think they are incompetent..anyway! after queuing for 15 mins yesterday (a common occurance) i decided to bite the bullet and walked down to natwest and booked an apt to open a bank account with them..
A few things i am not sure about before i go are:
I got married in oct and haven't changed anything yet (am in process of doing it though), i want the new account in my married name and they have said so long as i take certificate down and d licence i am fine so that's ok.
I am currently overdrawn most of the time with abbey due to being slef employed and not getting paid on time, i NEVER used to be overdrawn and am hoping this will not make a difference as they want to see last statement. How long will it take to be eligiable for an OD with them as want one.
I want to gradually move all DD's over (i have about 10) and have it as an only account and close abbey but think as i am OD moving it all at once will cause havoc with wages (as employes too) etc and need to sort out child ben etc being paid in in time..will this matter that i am just opening it and does anyone know how much i will need to open it?
Thanks

You may be better posting this on the Budgeting & Current Accounts board, gabyjane.
