I have now applied for the card reader for my tesco internet saver, but...
will it also come with a card and and a new PIN for the card, if not then how am I to use the card reader?
Or do I get a card with the card reader and use my security number (PIN) which I use when I log on?
Thanks in advance

also I've ordered the card reader, but where can I order the card? Or does it come with the reader?0

I have also ordered the card reader - I assume a card is issued with it. This is annoying, current circumstances mean that I may have to withdraw my money at short notice. I don't have time to mess around with card readers. I think I read somewhere that you can ring them up and withdraw money if it's needed urgently.0

You will receive the card reader, the PIN and the card. Probably over several days all via separate deliveries as far as I remember.

When you log in to your Tesco account, click on the "manage" box, then click on "change settings" on the left-hand side of the screen, and then click on "order card reader". It should arrive within 15 days.0

I ordered mine on December 27th and I've had no reader, card or pin (or anything else) as yet (16 days). But what with the new year and Tesco being utterly useless as a bank...
Given the way they are (as a bank), I can't see them surviving if their rates don't remain competitive. They're worse than NatWest and Barclays (and that's going some)!0 -
I wholeheartedly agree with the posts that have complained about this account. I was lured by the Tesco Club Card Deal carrot.
I opened it as a "solution" to put in some of my epic journey Kaupthing Edge savings fiasco......and what a painful experience it's been!
They seem to want you to set up a direct debit first.
No need...I bank( for my sins) with RBS therefore any payments into the Tesco account can be done by faster payments bacs, almost instantly.
The problem's been getting the money back out, into my RBS account.
I ordered a card reader/pin/card.
It took weeks and weeks to finally arrive. Card reader took 2 weeks longer than the card. The pin came weeks before that.
In the meantime, I called them up, and it took half an hour for one of their CSE's to do a transfer for me over the phone.
Then, perhaps I'm thick, but it was the most fiddly clumsy piece of stuff to deal with, whilst reading the online instructions.
I did eventually manage a test transfer back into my account, to make sure it worked.
I will be transferring the lot back into my account over the next couple of months....not worth the hassle!

Yes you are correct. They will transfer money by phone till you receive everything. Once you have the card and card reader though you can pay almost instantly if your receiving bank accepts faster payments. I have also read that once you make a payment over the phone, the payee that you need to create with the card + card reader is created by Tescos for you. I don't know if this is the case though."A weak currency arises from a weak economy, which in turn is the result of a weak government" - Gordon Brown 1992 -0 -
Yes, Stewster's right.
As per the instructions, I went thro the motions of setting up the receiving account, armed with the card reader/card/pin...and when I got to the end of it all...it flashed a message to say that the account was already set up.... and did I want to cancel it......arghhhhhh...
So, when the telephone transfer was done, it automatically set up the receiving account for me....but no-one bothered to tell me that.

Thanks guys - the idea of this account was for it to be instant access for this very reason (car's looking a bit iffy, I have a feeling I'm going to have to fork out for it soon). Not a nice feeling having your money 'trapped'.0
